Seniors In Action

The Angus Glen Older Adults Club (AGOAC) Filmmaking Group has received funding under the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program for their newest project;
“Seniors In Action Film Production & Festival”.

This federal grants and contributions program supports projects that are led or inspired by seniors who are making a difference in the lives of others in their communities.

The Film Production phase brings together seniors and older adult participants to learn the various elements of filmmaking. Production teams are assembled for participants to work together and come up with a story idea. Then, putting what they learned into practice and turn their idea into a short film.

When all the short films have been filmed and edited, the next phase is to showcase these works of art through a Film Festival. The Seniors In Action Film Festival (SIAFF) is scheduled to be held on March 21 & 22, 2024.

The festival will feature 19 short films of various genres and will be screened at the Cornell Community Centre Auditorium, providing a wonderful opportunity to enjoy and support the creative endeavors of hard working fimmakers.
