Ballroom Dance Registration Deadline Reminder

Dear Members,
This is a reminder that the registration deadline for the “Celebrate Markham Ballroom Dance Party” is on July 25, 2024.
If you haven't already done so, please ensure you register at your earliest convenience by emailing your full name and membership number to ballroom@agoac.com. Kindly note that AGOAC retains the right to finalize all registrations.
Event Details:
Date and Time: September 1, 2024 (Sunday), from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Location: Angus Glen Community Centre (Gymnasium)
We anticipate a delightful evening filled with food, snacks, drinks, lucky draws, music and dance, and we look forward to your participation!

The Filmmaking Group is excited to announce they are casting for roles in a new short film Grandpa's Revenge. This is a fantastic opportunity for all aspiring actors and actresses within our club and non-members to showcase their talents and be part of an amazing production.
Role 1: GEORGE (70s) - The Grumpy Grandpa
Role 2: JANE (30s-50s) - Caregiver for George
Role 3: PETER (40s) - George’s Son
Role 4: BETTY (40s) - Peter’s Wife
Role 5: JACK or JILL (6-10 years old) - Peter & Betty’s Child
Tell your friends and family, we encourage everyone to participate. This is a chance to be in front of the camera and learn and grow together as a creative community.
Audition Details:
- Date: July 30, 2024 (in-person) Afternoon
- Location: Old Unionville Library and Community Centre
- Please prepare a 2-minute monologue and bring a headshot and resume.
- Open to all ages, all ethnicities, AGOAC members and non-members.

2024 Summer Shape and Tone (SNT 1C)

Kindly reminder that Summer Mondays' Shape and Tone (SNT 1C at 7 pm) will only accept the first ninety walk-in members. We are sorry for the turned down members due to the limited capacity of AR1. Thank you for your support.
Please note that there is no Shape and Tone class on Civic Holiday, August 5, 2024.

AGOAC Membership Office will be closed during the program recess period from August 25, 2024 to September 22, 2024.
Please make sure you complete your new membership registration and renewal before the above closure or you will not be able to register for the fall programs.

Renewal Period
July 9 to July 30, Tuesday to Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location
City Administration Front Desk on the second floor of the Angus Glen Community Centre.
Payment Procedure
Show the membership card in person, which has the label "AGOAC Member 2023-2024" on the back.
There will be a $10 fee for lost cards
Pay via credit or debit card. No cash or checks. Third Party cards payment are not accepted except couple.
AGOAC membership activation
After payment, go to the AGOAC desk and activate your AGOAC membership account.
AGOAC desk open on July 9 to July 12, Tuesday to Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If the AGOAC desk is not available, you will need to send a photo of your payment receipt to membership@agoac.com to activate your membership.
Only active members for the 2024-2025 season are eligible to join the AGOAC programs and vote in director elections.
Total renewal fees (including $15 AGOAC Club fee) are as follows:
Over 65 years old (i.e. born before September 1, 1959)
Markham residents: $55
Non-Markham residents: $65
55 to 64 years old (that is, born from September 1, 1959 to September 1, 1969)
Markham residents: $67
Non-Markham residents: $80
Renewal fees are non-refundable and non-prorated.
2024-2025 New Membership & Inactive Member
New members and inactive members will not be processed during above renewal period until after August 19.

Dr. Fiona Chan, BHSc., DC., will come biweekly on Sunday for an hour of fitness exercise. Her guided exercises focus primarily on strengthening the body as well as correcting and relieving existing body pain.

I am pleased to let you know that the Outreach Program has arranged a wonderful information session for all AGOAC members. The session aims to provide information on Old Age Security Benefits, the Canada Pension Plan and the Canadian Dental Care Plan to all members.
The information session will be on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.
The information session will occur at Angus Glen Community Centre, AR2 - 3.
The information session will be presented by:
Karunaalini Nilendran - A/Citizen Services Specialist, Citizen Services Branch (CSB) Service Canada / Government of Canada
We will truly appreciate your participation. We believe that you will benefit from the information session. No registration is required.

Dear Members,
We are excited to announce that registration for the Celebration Markham - Ballroom Dance Party on Sunday, September 1, 2024, will begin on June 19, 2024, at 8:00 am (EDT). Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and any registrations received after the limit is reached will be added to the Waiting List.
As always, our party will feature a pizza dinner, coffee, snacks, soft drinks, bottled water, and a lucky draw. Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
• Dinner time: 6:00 pm
• Party time: 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm
You can register individually or reserve a table if you have a group of 10.
To register, please email ballroom@agoac.com with your full name and membership number (if applicable).
AGOAC reserves the right to make final decisions regarding registrations.

The Google Form for Zumba Registration is now open. Classes will be held at Angus Glen Community Centre, AR1, 7:15 PM-8:15 PM for 9 weeks. Member cost is $27.00 for the 9 weeks payable before the first class starts on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. There are minimum participant registration requirements of 25 with a maximum to be determined.
Note: The registration period shown is 9 weeks because of the summer schedule. Daytime classes are not available because of the City's usage of facilities for summer programs.

Kindly reminder that last classes of Shape and Tone (SNT) will be on June 17, 2024. Then we will resume our Summer SNT 1C at AR1 from *7pm to 8:30pm* in the Monday’s evening starting from *July 8 until Aug 26*.
Summer SNT will be a drop-in program for AGOAC members only, so please present your membership cards every time you attend; wear comfortably with sneakers, bring water bottles, towels and weights, let’s keep moving!
